A Farmer’s Creativity

As I, Alice, was enjoying some luscious and juicy fresh Michigan sweet corn I was reminded of how a Pennsylvania Farmer’s creativity impacted His Wheels last summer. This farmer grew sweet corn and made it available for those in his church. You could take as much as you needed. The payment he asked was that each person donate the amount of money they felt was reasonable for the corn to another organization. I don’t know if it was limited to organizations but I do know that HWI was the organization one person chose to make the beneficiary of this farmer’s creative generosity.

Refining Our Focus

After 8 years of distributing over 1,700 two-wheeled bicycles we are ending that aspect of our ministry so we can focus our undivided attention on our hand-pedaled trikes. The initial bicycle goal Alice set was 100 in her lifetime. We have finished that aspect of the ministry well.

Photo Shoot June 26, 2013

Resurrection University/West Suburban Hospital is featuring a story on Alice Teisan in their August 2013’s award winning Reflections jounral. Alice graduated from West Suburban School of Nursing in 1984.

Along with the article Resurrection U sent out Allen Bourgeois to do a photo shoot. Thanks to Allen and Resurrection U’s generosity we have been given permission to feature the pictures on our site.

Two More Trikes Distributed in Ethiopia

Talked with my friend and missionary nurse Carolyn Adolph on Saturday, July 6, 2013. Carolyn is serving at Soddo Christian Hospital in Ethiopia. I learned that this week that a group of about 8 people came from the local disability society all in need of trikes. They only had 2 left and they were both given away. The leader from the local disability group made the decision of who received the trikes.  (more…)
