On Friday, Sept. 13, His Wheels Int’l took a road trip to Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais for a visit with the Engineering Department, and a meeting with its students.

Upon their arrival at the Reed Hall of Science Founder Alice Teisan and His wheels engineer, Kevin, were welcomed by Engineering Professors Ken Johnson and Mario Sanders.

At this meeting, four engineering seniors, Prof. Sanders, Teisan, and Kevin sat together and discussed the hand pedaled trike used by a person with paraplegia. The students were informed of the His Wheels long term goal to help nationals develop their own factories to build these machines for their people worldwide.

These four seniors, with concentrations in engineering, had chosen His wheels Int’l to pursue for their final project prior to their graduation in May. Using their skills and Prof. Sanders being a guiding force, the trike will now have EEG (Electroencephalography) technology, where the mobility of the trike is activated by currents & flows with the neurons of the brain.

Both the reconstruction and additions to the trike will take significant planning, researching, and designing to make sure the trike is cost effective, safe, manageable and most importantly used.
